Project Eve
38 years ago a project was conducted on a 28 year old woman to create the ultimate weapon who could infect living creatures with a single thought. The project failed, the specimen named E.V.E. (Engineered Viral Entity) was uncontrollable. With a single thought Eve would incinerate hundreds of people, a massacre that shocked the world. Eve had abused her powers and nobody could control her actions. The military research facility had no choice but to contain Eve, the developed psychokinetic tactical suits that prevented her infection. She now sits in Chryostasis and is intended to stay that way until the human race naturally evolves…
But 20 years later they took DNA and Neo-Mitochondrion samples from her body and transferred them into a fetus. This fetus was then transplanted into a woman that could care for her as well as discipline her as she grew up. Eve was to return at the age of six, but was abandoned by her guardian when she found what kind of power the girl had. Since then the Military Research Facility has been searching the globe for this one gifted girl, Eve.
Now at the age of 18, Eve has begun to settle in a small town next to a beautiful mountain. She occasionally climbs this mountain in the morning to watch the sunset. Eve though Eve has immense power, she never leaves home without her gun. She tries to live a quiet life but anytime she settles in, her life gets interrupted by people who see her powers or the Military Research Facility finds her. Eve lives alone and intends to stay that way until she finds out what really happened to her. The last thing she can remember is her mother leaving her when she was four, and the man who took care of her until she was 16. Now she was afraid to be alone without the help of that man, but he died and there was nothing she could to about it.
Eve began to attend school at the age of 10 and started University at the beginning of the year. With a fresh start and nobody knowing her secret, life seemed to be getting better for her. Eve lives with a roommate on the University Campus and tries to live a normal life. Occasionally her powers spike, but nothing major happens, a tipped glass or flying pencil. She usually acts like everyone else with a shocked face on but she doesn’t like acting the same, she wants to live her own life, not someone else’s. Eve mostly stays inside confined to herself with some interaction with Kotomi her roommate. When she gets out she walks among the campus or hikes up the mountain to watch the sunset.
About half way through the semester she starts to converse with Kotomi a lot more and made a few more friends. Every so often they would come to their room or they would go theirs. Makoto, Eve and Kotomi were all in the same Major’s Telekinetics and Supernatural oddities. Everyone beliefed in it but they were discouraged by those who thought it was all a hoax. Eve wanted to prove them wrong, but didn’t want to call attention to herself, so she had to let it go. The three of them were basically outcasts. Others in those classes were there because it was necessary, even the professor was in disbelief of it all.
During the winter Eve and Kotomi made room for Makoto to room with them because her roommates were harassing her. The teachers who taught them were soon even harassing them. This is where the story begins.
An announcement had been placed in the school newspaper. “At the end of this semester, the Supernatural Oddities class will be indefinitely cancelled.” Everyone rejoiced except for the select few that were enrolled in it. Eve almost let her abilities take over to show everyone that they were all wrong.
Eve was in the main hall when she read the announcement; she headed for the main office immediately. “It’s not a hoax, it’s real I…” Eve proclaimed upon entry, not realizing who was in there. “Excuse me, but it is not my problem anymore, miss?” The Dean replied to outburst while talking to a military officer. Eve stands there looking as if she’d seen a ghost. “Miss, what the Dean is…” the soldier stops what he’s saying as he turns then finishes his sentence with a curious tone in his voice. “… all schools are to cancel all classes to do with Psychic abnormalities.” The Dean stands up and walks towards her and states. “They’re looking for a girl and they think she’s trying to blend in as a student. What was your name by the way? I didn’t catch it.”
“I thought you would let it go after 8 years, I haven’t hurt a soul ever since….that accident.” Eve replies still not giving her name. The soldier quickly stands up reaching for his sidearm. “I’ve waited along time for this, going place to place finally paid off.” Kotomi and Makoto burst into the room tightly gripping the newspapers in their hands. “You can’t do…” they stop midway at the sight of Eve and the soldier, “…what’s going on?” Eve turns to her head towards them, her eyes a crimson read instead of their normal sky blue, her friends back up in fear. “I’m sorry guys, but I won’t be here anymore, I have to leave today.” Books lift off the shelves and fly in all directions keeping the soldier at bay. Eve stepped out of the office and began to run once more in her life.
“Eve come back!” can her heard from behind her, sounding like Kotomi’s voice. “I can’t go back! I just can’t!” her thoughts begin to surface. “They just want to use me,” She emerges from the building to confront many other soldiers. “You can stop running Eve, just come home with us, there’s nowhere else to go.” A well-dressed man steps out from the mass of soldiers. Eve looks about the soldiers and then fixes on the well-dressed man. About to turn and run the, the man opens his mouth. “If you run, we will be forced to kill you, don’t make us do that.” She stops and turns her head towards him with her tears in her eyes. “I just want a normal life, but you had to fuck it up!” She turns back towards the door to see many students standing there. With them, were Kotomi and Makoto. Ashamed of herself she turns to the envoy of soldiers and agrees to go with them.
The well-dressed man escorts Eve to an armoured vehicle. “They know too much, make it look like an accident.” He says to a soldier before they close the doors. Eve stands up after hearing their conversation and begins to bang on the door screaming. The soldiers know they can’t do the task at hand, but they have the power to. Two ATVs pull up to the university and deploys six Golems from each vehicle. Each Golem stepped out of the transport vehicle, the coldness of their dead bodies radiating from their masks, and their dull grey eyes bored into the souls of the students draping fear over each and everyone of them. Eve stares out the small window kicking and screaming as each of the Golems form a line, ready to shoot on command. Eve goes dead quiet as one soldier gave the command. “Kill them all.” She throws up at the sight of the ungodly massacre. Tears streaming down her face as she watched the students scatter. Even the soldiers clutch their stomachs at the scene, but one person just stands here as if nothing is happening. The well-dressed man stands as if analyzing their movements.
By the end of the massacre, Eve had curled up in a fetal position, disgusted by the smell of blood in the air. She hears the ATVs load back up and pull away, followed by the starting of the engine of the truck. She wills herself to stand up and look out the window at the horrific sight.
As she rises up, her body shakes afraid of what she’s about to see. Her head becomes level with the window and her pupils dilate as she fixes upon the bloody corposes. Dismembered limbs twitch in their own blood, bullet shells and holes scattered all over the place. The university slowly shrinks in the distance, Eve now huddled in a corner, covered in darkness. By far the worst day of her life yet, she felt things were turnjing for the worst, not better. Also her life has fallen apart around her, no friends, no family, no school. The biggest problem at hand was where she was headed.
The truck came to a sudden halt and a turbine engine could be heard in the distance. She was about to fly. Doors open and the lights shines through onto Eve, her tears glistening on her cheeks. The guard commands her to get up, and she does exactly that. “Why did…now, how could you kill all those innocent people?” Eve question followed by an ill response. “We were ordered to…if we didn’t’, they would have anyways.” Eve steps out of the truck onto the dry ground of a deserted airfield. “Where are we going?” Eve asks after looking at the surroundings. The guard closes his mouth and escorts her to the plane. “Answer me!” she persists, grabbing his arm and stopping him in his tracks. “I can’t answer that, okay.” The guar proclaims. “I just can’t.” The plane door opens, revealing the well-dressed man and a mistress beside him, they step down awaiting Eve. As eve approaches, the two smile and embrace her as their own. “Let go of me, murderer.” Eve speaks in anguish and pushes them away.
Soon after, she was on the plane and in the air. “Where are we headed anyways?” she says with an angered tone in her voice, in which the mistress replied. “Just settle down, we will take care of you once we get what we need.” Hastily Eve stands up and moves to the very back, avoiding everyone. She begins to contemplate with herself. “What did she mean ‘they’ll take care of me’?” As she persisted to think about what that woman had said, Eve quickly dozed off with many thoughts surging through her head.

Eve awoke when the plane landed on a military base 13 hours later. But when she awoke, nobody was on the plane. She felt as though she were alone again. “Where is everyone, and why did they leave me alone?” She began to converse with herself. Before long a man looking about 22 years old, stepped onto the plane and greeted her. “So you are Eve… I am Viron, I will be your caretaker for a few days.” Eve stands up and smiles before walking up to him and introduced herself. “Well Viron, I’m pleased to meet you, but where are we?” Viron takes her hand and begins to climb the steps. “Right now we’re at a Military Research Facility, but we can leave if you want.” Eve walks alongside him looking at him rather peculiarly. “You look familiar, do I know you?” Viron lets out a slight chuckle before replying. “I knew you when you were 10, I played the trumpet at the time, but that was then and this is now, I work for them, because I knew it was the only way I would find you again.” Eve quickly held him close to her. “It’s been so long, I haven’t forgotten what you did for me then.” Viron stands shocked for a moment before embracing Eve. “It’s been 8 years Eve and I’ve tried to find you everyday of every year.” They begin heading towards a humvee before the well-dressed man came running towards them. “Get back here Eve, we just want to run a few tests on you to help you control her gift!”
Before they knew it, they were on the run from the military again. “I thought I wouldn’t see you guys ever again, that day I was separated from all of you I was horrified.” Eve begins to look back at her past. While Viron is driving he occasionally glances over to see how Eve is doing. “You know Izonya is still looking for you… I can take you to him.” She looks at him and tries to see him as he grew up. “Why didn’t you just forget about me, I only got…” Before Eve finished her sentence, Viron had stopped the vehicle and put his finger on her lips. “I would never forget you Eve, no matter what.” Not long after Eve was blushing red, her eyes had finally returned to their sky blue colour. “I never want to lose you again Eve, I couldn’t do anything when I was 15, but I can protect you now.”
In the distance a helicopter could be heard fast approaching. “They’re coming! We have to get under something quickly before they see us.” Eve looks up at the sky, then to the road signs ahead. “There’s a car wash up ahead but…there’s no roof.” Viron speeds up heading for the car wash ahead. “We’ve got no choice I guess, first they’ll attack us with the golems… I feel you’ve seen those monsters.” Eve looks back to when she was in the truck looking out at the Golems and the destruction and death they caused at the University. “Eve you’re too silent… what happened to you all these years?” Eve looks up no longer thinking of the carnage she had witnessed earlier, but the problem at hand. “I watched them…the golems, they murdered hundreds of students at my university.” As she recites the scene over again, tears began to form in her eyes. “Don’t think about it Eve, if it hurts that much, don’t.”
As the car wash rises over the horizon, Eve wipes the tears from her eyes and forces a smile. The helicopters were nearing quickly, Viron races for the car wash, which was unfortunately a full service wash. Once they enter the carwash, the gates closed down and water jetted out soaking them in seconds. “Eve…do you remember eight years ago when we were stuck out in the rain?” “Yeah, why do you ask?” Viron looks down and then slightly blushes. “That I should have done this years ago.” Viron leans in and kisses Eve who seems slightly uneasy yet quickly becomes enticed by him. He backs off minues after, looking into her eyes, studying her feelings. “You’ve changed, I can’t remember the last time you had mixed feelings about present events.” Eve puts her hand to her lips, overlooking what had just happened. “I have changed, I’ve been living alone since I lost you guys, until a few months ago.” The gates opened letting the sun shine on the front of the humvee and Viron starts the engine back up. Their hair flat and clothes soaked they leave in the opposite direction that they came. “Izonya lives just up ahead, not toofar from the base. He’s actually quite concerned about you.”

Meanwhile Izouya was down the set of stairs working on a project for Eve, Viron and Vex to help them contain and release their energy when needed. “Well its gotten quiet up there…I wonder what they’re up to?” Izouya walks around pondering about something. “I need to find what triggers their abilities.” A noise sparks his attention upstairs. “Sounds like the door…are they leaving?” He starts up the stairs before he begins to hear voices. “That’s not Eve or Viron…” The golems entered the house by force, knocking down many of the sacred artifacts, waking Eve and Viron. Still laid back, Viron looks around with buggy eyes. “Izouya…what are you…” Both Eve and Viron’s eyes dilate at the sight of the golems entering the room. Izouya comes bursting out with his katana high above his head only to be quickly intercepted by the many-cloaked golems. To everyone’s surprise, Izouya was only taken away but not harmed. Eve stood up clearly ready to fend off as many golems as possible. Viron stood besides her hiding his hands, looking around trying to find the other cloaked golems. The golems sway side to side, their feet still like an embedded boulder, and their eyes locked onto both Viron and Eve. After a few minutes of standing, a well-built man walks into the room. “You disappoint me Viron, but we still have a use for you so don’t fret…” He lets out a deep malicious laugh. “We have a use for all of you, even Aya.” Eve’s eyes meet his as he says that name. “What are you doing to my sister?!” Eve yells taking a stop forwards. “She’s fine… it’s actually funny, she still fights even though she can’t stop us.” Eve begins a full out dash towards him, her fist curled into a tight ball. “You will never tough my sister again…?” Two more golems appear beside her restraining her inches away from him. “What was that you said young lady…it sounded like a threat.” Helix raises his hand and strikes her across her face enraging Viron. Helix looks up at him with h is one eye as if analyzing him. “If you haven’t yet…take a look around you. You’re outnumbered.” The many golems show themselves raising the head count from 5 to 30.” Your reanimated soldiers don’t sense me.” Viron lets out realizing he doesn’t have a chance. Helix tells the golems to take Eve out and exit with her. “So Viron you think you can take me on huh? Well I’m going to be bringing you down, you’re the perfect hunt.” He says as the golems leave with Eve. Viron hunches over showing his claws and baring h is teeth, Helix grasps his MP5 and a concussion grenade. Helix makes the first move arming the grenade and tossing it in the air towards Viron who rushes towards the Helix grabbing the grenade in midair and forces it into Helix’s chest. “It should feel good…and when I’m done with you I’m heading straight after Dourin.” The blast shoots both Viron and Helix back to the opposite walls. Viron struggles to rise to h is feet while Helix rises with ease, walking over to Viron with an unchanged nature. “Viron did you think that grenade would kill me just because I am human?” He says raising his MP5 up towards Viron. “But I am not here to kill you, we found a use for you… a time will come when I may kill you though.” Viron comes to his feet and looks upon Helix with hateful eyes. “I will never…” Before he could finish his sentence, Helix fires upon him, but the shots released are different then those of a normal magazine, their infliction causes temporary paralysis. “You can thank Eve and Aya for that one… Apoptosis is a good thing.” Helix lets out a deep hard laugh. He hurdles Viron over his shoulder and carries him out to the transport vehicle, where Eve and Izouya are already contained. Viron is thrown in and Helix seals the door shut before returning to his Arm Slave (AS).

“Alright, let’s go Dourin is waiting.” Helix says from the 8.3m high AS before entering the head and taking control. The once inanimate AS becomes animate and begins charging its boosters. The vehicles move out at once at a slow pace, the golems follow beside and behind.
Inside the convoy situated Eve and Izouya, Viron lay unconscious with Eve at his side. They wait for him to regain consciousness and for the doors to open once more. “Eve…can you heal his nerves like you healed me years ago?” Izouya states trying to help find a way to wake Viron. Eve replies with a tone of uncertainty. “Um… I can try, but I could accidentally damage his nerves, I don’t want to hurt him.” Eve begins by placing her hands upon Viron’s head. Before she started doing anything, Viron’s eyes faintly open and his head rises. “Where am I…” Eve quickly embraces Viron as he wakes up. “I’m so glad you’re okay.” Izouya looks over to them, glad that they are together but grim of their destination. “Izouya…what’s the problem?” Viron says being helped over to the side. “Think of where we’re going…who knows what’s going to happen there.” Eve looks up at Izouya with teary eyes. “I have to get my sister out of there, ore they’re going to kill her.” Viron takes her hand. “It’s okay Eve, we’re going to help you get her out.” The truck comes to a halt and the door opens, but nobody is there. Izouya steps out and looks around and notices that they’re at a military base, but there’s nothing around. He turns back to Eve and Viron. “There’s nothing out…” before he spoke another word, he had been sedated and dragged off. Eve helps Viron to his feet. “Izouya!” As Viron and Eve exit the convoy she begins hearing voices in her head. “Eve come help me… they won’t stop…EVE…” everything went silent and what was once light, became darkness as she fell to the ground. A golem renders itself visible, staring down at Eve. “Sir…we didn’t sedate her yet… get her to the infirmary, NOW!” Viron is sedated and the two are carried off.
When Eve awakes, she is laying on a gurney with a hospital gown on and her clothes folded neatly beside her. “Ugh…where am I?” she says rising up holding her gown with one hand and shading her eyes with the other. “Please dress yourself and step out of the door to your left” a female says from behind a plate of glass. Eve grabs her clothes and steps behind a curtain and changes back into her clothes. “Thank you ma’am, what’s your name?” she says before leaving the room. “I’m Rei, it’s nice to meet you Eve.” She smiles before Eve leaves the room. Eve closes the door behind her and glances up and down the halls. “Where are you guys? Aya, Viron, Izouya…” the doctor steps out of the room and walks up to EVE “Please, this way.” Rei requests before leading the way. “…Can I see my sister soon?” Eve says following closely behind. Rei stays silent for a few moments before saying. “You can see her in a b it… but she won’t be able to talk to you, she’s undergone many tests.” Eve uneasily reacts to Rei’s last words. “What kind of tests…if anyone has hurt her, I’ll kill them.” Rei’s face goes from pleasant to serious. “I assure you, body has hurt her.” Then she thinks to herself “At least when I’m on watch” and they continue down the corridor. “Come, we must extract a few elements from your cell structure…Eve please this way.” Rei persuades as Eve reluctantly complies following her through the bulkhead. “Rei why do you do this? I mean why do you work for those people?” Eve says questioning her intent. “I was told I would be working with research on cell reproduction…” Eve looks down at her own body and says “I have the ability to rapidly reproduce cells, that’s why I’m here. They’re going to do it again, please don’t help them… they’re going to create another Eve…if they succeed the world as you know it will change forever.” Rei drops her clipboard that she was clutching. “No we don’t want to clone you, we just…” she starts saying picking up her clipboard. “No! They haven’t told you everything… I am an experiment that went wrong, my cell split and the powers were split between Aya and me. I’m a weapon created by the military and they want to perfect me…” Eve burst out interrupting Rei. A shocked Rei stands still as if paralyzed, tightly gripping the clip book. Eve walks over to her and softly grasps her arm, “I’m sorry but I need to find my sister and stop all of this. Please help me.” Rei jumps and pulls her arm back “I couldn’t…I can’t do anything like you…I would just slow you down. I’m…” Eve slaps Rei to stop her nonsense. “I may have the cursed abilities but you know your way about the maze. So please Rei, help me…please,” Rei hesitates for a bit then takes the PT suit “Okay I’ll take you to your sister, but like I told you, she won’t be able to talk…” she says entering a code into a key pad and exiting back into the corridor. “Come, your sister is this way, she has extensive burns from a battle she had before we found her.” As they’re walking down the hall a red eye passes them as if it were floating. Eve later notices it’s a white golem, rendered invisible due to the white walls. “Who else is on this floor?” Eve asks passing golem after golem. “… Rei doesn’t reply. “Rei… who else is on this level?!” Eve persists “….” Rei still doesn’t reply. Eve then roughly takes Rei by the arm “WHO?!” Everyone…” Rei reluctantly replies. “All the people that you’ve been with in your life.” Eve looks down the halls at all the doors, only imagining what’s on the other side. “Can you take me to them?” Eve asks with a calm voice. Rei walks to one of the doors “ Yes but once I open this door they’ll know where we are and what were doing.” She holds her hand to the door about to punch in a comm. “Do it…I can protect you.” The door begins to open and in the middle of the room stands a containment cell holding Aya who is unconscious being fed air through a bunch of tubes. “AYA!!” Eve yells running towards the cell. “Can you get her out” There’s a small silence before Rei answers her “No I don’t have the authorization…I’m sorry Eve.” Eve starts banging on the glass trying to wake Aya, only to get a faint response. Rei steps behind Eve “Its resistant to explosions you can’t break it.” Aya’s eyes open faintly and she smiles at her sister happy to see her. “Its been awhile Aya…Last time I saw you, you were 14.” Eve says in dismay placing her hand upon the glass. Rei walks up behind Eve “Eve I’m sorry but…” Eve’s eyes begin to tear as she place her head against the glass in defeat.
